Executive management of a national child development advocacy organization supporting low-income indigenous populations
This national U.S. organization is focused on strengthening services and promoting positive child development for low-income indigenous children through advocacy and leadership development and training of early childhood educators and advocacy.
To do this, I facilitated five-year strategic planning and aligning this strategy with outcomes and budgetary requirements. The organization desired to increase their visibility within their field and to grow the services provided to early childhood professionals.
Because of their dedication, with my assistance, the client achieved their goals by nearly doubling their membership, building stronger relationships with the government and private sector, and instituting a new training program.
Strategic consulting to support rapid organizational growth and implementing new services for children and families
My client, a local early learning and child development organization, experienced rapid organizational growth, securing resources to drastically increase their operational budget, staffing, and services provided.
The organization sought support to revise their policies and procedures, to explore and identify strategies for addressing staff retention, and to assess community needs and the organization's response to those needs for reporting.
The organization, with my support, has created an approach to individual development that focuses on the holistic intentional growth of individuals, transcending the boundaries of profession-specific development and embracing both personal and professional goal-setting. Additionally, I worked with the organization to conduct a community-wide needs assessment in order to align the new services with the needs of the community. I continue to work with the organization to align their policies and procedures with Federal requirements while capturing the essence of their mission, values, and principles.
Creating high-functioning systems to ensure success in a start-up peri-urban health clinic and youth development center in East Africa
This client built and opened a peri-urban health clinic and youth development center in East Africa. While services had started, a clear strategic plan for meeting the needs of the community had not yet been developed.
I worked with the organization to develop the five-year strategic plan and business objectives, policies and procedures that aligned with Ministry of Health requirements, and financial and administrative manuals. With this support, the client maximized operational efficiencies and programming for the health clinic and youth center, ensuring that high-quality services and activities aligned with their mission, core values, and strategic plan.
I assisted the organization in implementing human resource strategies to attract, retain, and motivate dedicated, high performing staff. This included recruiting and hiring qualified staff and volunteers, managing new staff orientations, developing continuing education strategies, and maintaining staff records.
